The Onassis Library

22,000 volumes, 18 major databases, and quiet study from dawn to dusk.

About the Library

The Onassis Library is EEA's principal academic resource centre, occupying the upper two floors of Building A on the Peania campus. The library was endowed at the institute's founding by a grant from the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation and was officially inaugurated alongside the Academy itself in November 2025.

Library

Collection

The library currently holds 22,000 physical volumes acquired through a curated founding-collection programme led by the library's first head, Dr. Ariadne Romaiou. Acquisitions focus on the core engineering literature, complemented by smaller working collections in the history of science, classical philosophy, and the Greek and Mediterranean architectural canon. We add roughly 80 new physical titles per month.
